5 Games To Play on ROBLOX (if you’re bored)

Hey guys! It’s me, Emily, back with another random boredom-fueled post. If you’ve had a lot of extra time and you’re not sure what to watch or play, there are so many posts on this blog to help you out with that. Go to this link to find some of them. I actually recently did a collaboration with Victoria about this, so there are a few posts about that on her blog too, so check that out.

However, today we’re going to be exploring something different which we have not talked about before. I am going to go over 5 games on a popular video game site called ROBLOX that you should play if you’re bored, especially during social isolation. With online schools and many cancelled activities, we’ve all had a lot of extra time on our hands. My sister and I have just started playing games on ROBLOX again, after a long time. While ROBLOX is associated with younger people, some of the games are still fun to play if you’re older, even if they are a bit cringey. Here are 5 games for you to play on ROBLOX if you’re bored.

1. Restaurant Tycoon 2

This is a fun tycoon-style game I’ve been playing a lot lately! It’s different than typical tycoons which you can find all over ROBLOX. Restaurant Tycoon 2 is an entertaining game in which you design your restaurant, cook themed food, and serve it to customers. There’s a huge variety of cuisines you can serve, and each restaurant can serve many different cuisines if wanted. For example, you can serve Italian, American, Chinese, Japanese, British, Greek, and Hungarian/Austrian food in this game. There really is a huge variety. Later in the game you can hire waiters and waitresses, expert chefs, and even build a drive thru for your restaurant. Get furniture you need by going to EKEA, the furniture store. All in all, it’s a fun game.

2. Pizza Factory Tycoon

This is another tycoon-style game, but this one is much more traditional and similar to other tycoons. However, Pizza Factory Tycoon is much longer, more complicated, and more entertaining than others I’ve seen. Build your pizza factory from the ground up, creating your own pizza recipes to serve your customers! Hire cashiers, and build multiple floors of pizza mania. Later in the game, you can make dessert pizzas, and even upgrade to an alien feature for way way more options and features. I really really like this game!

3. Fashion Famous

Fashion Famous is one of the most popular games on ROBLOX. It is a dress up game in which you have a theme and everyone chooses clothes to wear for the runway. At the end, everyone votes for who deserves to win based on the theme and how much they like the outfits! It’s a very fun game, even if it is directed toward younger girls. It’s fun to create your own outfits and make them look great (or hideous!)

4. Hide and Seek Extreme

This is a super fun hide and seek game that I haven’t played in a while, but I should. It’s pretty simple, one person is chosen as “It” and after about a minute, they have to chase down and tag everyone else. It wins if It gets everyone! This game has lots of secret trapdoors, teleportation spots, secret hiding spots, and more. Really really one of my favorite games.

5. The Underground War

The Underground War is an interesting game that my sister introduced to me. It’s based on two teams, red and blue, killing each other by stabbing and shooting, and trying to bring the other team’s flag back to your base, all of this taking place underground. It’s basically Capture the Flag on ROBLOX, except you have two weapons, a sniper and sword instead of tagging people. There’s also a sequel to the game called The Underground War 2 (wow I know) which is similar with the difference being that there are actually four teams.

I tried my best to describe each game, but the best way for you to know what these games are like and if you like them is if you play them! All of these can be found on roblox.com, and I’ve linked each game in the headings. To play games on ROBLOX, there is a requirement to download ROBLOX, so keep that in mind.

Great Movies To Watch During Quarantine (with Victoria Burchett!)

Welcome to the final installment of my collaboration with Victoria Burchett to bring you all suggestions as to what to watch and listen to during quarantine! If you’re new here, make sure to follow our blogs for more content about quarantine, life, and travel. If you haven’t seen my previous post of this series, I’ll link it here. This is a four-part series (two posts here, two on Victoria’s blog) highlighting some great things to do in quarantine. Victoria’s blog is here if you want to check it out for great posts about her daily life, her travels, and vlogs during quarantine with her family including her little brother and dog. Her companion post is here. We hope you all enjoy these movie suggestions!

Emily’s list

Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark* – I actually recently watched this movie for the first time (wow I know) and it’s a great film with lots of action, romance, and great characters.

Back To The Future (I, II, and III)² – ABSOLUTELY THE BEST EVER I love this trilogy so so so much it’s an absolute must-watch for anyone in the world ever. I don’t even know how to explain these movies but basically the plot is amazing and the three movies tie in with each other perfectly. There’s technology and theories and time-travel and humor and Marty McFly…just watch it.

Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse* – This is one of the best animated films, like ever. It really shows that just because a movie is animated, doesn’t mean it’s just for kids or it’s not as good. This is actually so amazing? Into The Spiderverse is probably better than many live-action films. Definitely a must-watch if you like movies.

Legally Blonde² – I love this movie so much! It seems like a romantic/drama movie at first but it’s really just an amazing story and hilarious dialogue. The plot is really great and I’m pretty sure you’d all love it. Here’s a very very summarized summary: Elle Woods goes to Harvard Law School and she’s blonde.

Jurassic World² – This is a great film with lots of action and I really like the characters and romance too. I actually like this movie way better than Jurassic Park? Maybe it’s just me, but the characters are way more likeable in this one.

Victoria’s list

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off*— a overall hilarious movie

Meet the Robinsons¹ — a great Disney movie based off of Walt Disney’s quote “keep moving forward”

The Two Popes* (filmed at palace in Naples, that I was going to visit, but they were filming)

The Princess Bride² — a classic film

La La Land² — great musical numbers

Thanks for reading! Read Victoria’s post here for some great YouTubers to watch during quarantine, especially if you don’t have Netflix and Amazon Prime for these movies. Here are our other posts on songs to listen to and shows to watch. See you next time!

Our Favorite Shows for Your Quarantine (With Victoria Burchett!)

Hey guys! I’ve collaborated with Victoria Burchett to bring you a mega-list of shows you should totally binge (or maybe just start watching) during quarantine! I know lots of people around the world have to stay inside their house during this time, and we wanted to just give you some suggestions as to what to watch when you don’t know what to watch! Follow my blog and Victoria’s blog for the next posts in this 4-post series. Victoria’s blog is here if you want to check it out for great posts about her daily life, her travels, and vlogs during quarantine with her family including her little brother and dog. Her companion post is here. Without further ado, let’s move on to the lists!

Emily’s picks:

The Office*- BEST SHOW EVER! You’ve probably heard of this show and you probably know that it’s funny with lots of great characters and slightly very cringey jokes that are barely funny because of who says them. What you probably don’t know is that behind the humor there are a few heartwarming moments and episodes that actually…made me tear up? Actually, there was a SCREENSHOT of The Office that made me cry. Um, yeah. Anyway, this is a funny show with a great story and super sweet characters. I think mostly anyone would fall in love with 9 seasons of these people.

Crash Landing On You*- I just started this Netflix Original series, and it’s really good so far! Pretty much everyone I know who’s into kdramas highly highly recommends this show. My mom says there’s humor and romance in it? I don’t know, but the concept seems really interesting. I’m excited to watch the rest of the show!

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series¹ – Okay, to be honest, I don’t even have Disney+, but my friends all love this series. And the song All I Want is really good. The title is ridiculous but it’s probably a good show.

Grey’s Anatomy* – Grey’s Anatomy is a pretty intense show that also has great characters and an intricate plot. I’ve watched half-ish of one episode and the ending half of a season finale. It takes place in Seattle, Washington, which is where I live, yay! Other than that, all I know is that the season finale was good. Even though I hadn’t watched any of the season when I watched the finale.

We Bare Bears* – I love this show! It’s super cute and has lots of Asian-American culture integrated into the show. The characters are the best and each episode varies in content, but it’s always great.

Victoria’s picks:

Inside Bill’s Brain*— really interesting and insightful

Supergirl*—if you like action but still has a plot

A Series of Unfortunate Events*—great for all ages, intriguing and imaginative

Once Upon A Time*—modernizes old fairy tales and has a lot of episodes and seven seasons

Grand Tour²— amazing filming/camera skills/cinematography. Really funny, the cars are cool

15 Songs You Should Add to Your Quarantine Playlist

Are you bored at home? Well, stay home! But you don’t need to stay bored. Consider listening to these songs that I have made into a playlist. I got a lot of inspiration from my “On Repeat” playlist on Spotify. They don’t have a specific connection to COVID-19 or quarantine, but they are the songs on my personal daily rotation during this time…enjoy!

1. Moral of The Story – Ashe

This is a really good song! It really hits right in the feels, y’know. It’s apparently also in the movie P.S. I Still Love You, which I (still) haven’t watched. However, I watched To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before which was made in like, 2018…progress, right? Anyway, definitely listen to this song. It’s amazing and compelling and irresistible.

2. Say So – Doja Cat

This one’s for you TikTok addicts! This is a straight BOP and you all probably already know this song. There’s also this amazing live version, and Doja’s outfits are BEAUTIFUL!

This is an AMAZING live version! Love the outfits!

3. Speechless (Full) – Naomi Scott

I’ve been listening to this on repeat for a week now, and I’ll probably keep it on repeat for like, a month. This is an amazing song from Disney’s live action remake of Aladdin. It really adds a whole new side to Jasmine and gives her a voice. Go listen to it. It’s really powerful.

Love you Naomi ❤

4. Haunted – Taylor Swift

I really like this song, even though it’s March and this is kind of spooky season themed? @victoriaburchett literally recommended this song to me in October and I didn’t think much of it back then, but listening to it now, it’s amazing and you should listen.

Idk, it’s weird, but this song is just compelling

5. How To Be A Heartbreaker – MARINA

Heyyyy this is a bop! I love jamming out to this song, and I loved dancing to this song at Marina’s concert. It’s really fun and catchy, so go listen to it.

6. If The World Was Ending – JP Saxe ft. Julia Michaels

This song is probably the only one on this playlist that has any connection to coronavirus today! That being said, the world is not ending and you should not invite your friends over to your house. Actually, I’m pretty sure there was a pretty big earthquake in Utah recently, so relevant right? I’ve been listening to this song a lot and it’s also in my “sad songs that aren’t really sad playlist,” because while this song has a lot of sad feelings invoked in it, its message is ultimately kind of positive? I really really like Kurt Hugo Schneider, Yoandri, and Rain Paris’ cover of this song. I actually might prefer it to the original, to be honest, so I’ll link both of them below!

KHS is da best

7. Maniac – Conan Gray

So, you showed up at my home, all alone

Maniac, Conan Gray

So, I show up at your place right away

Wipe the tears off of your face

Maniac, Conan Gray

DON’T GO TO OTHER PEOPLE’S HOUSES. Moving past that, this is a killer bop single that is part of Conan’s new album Kid Krow, and honestly it’s probably my favorite on the album! It’s pretty powerful while being kind of funny at the same time, for some reason. The lyrics are definitely pretty intense. Hope you guys enjoy it!

8. Supalonely – BENEE ft. Gus Dapperton

I take back what I said earlier, this is the second song on this playlist that has to do with coronavirus. Social distancing, everyone! It might make you SuPaLoNeLy. Hopefully, though, you guys are using technology and social media to stay connected to your friends without actually seeing them IRL. Stay at home. Moving on, any of you on TikTok probably already know this song, because it was pretty popular there and that’s pretty much why it’s popular? I actually learned about this song not from TikTok, but from listening to random songs on Spotify. It’s pretty cool; check it out.

9. Back To December – Taylor Swift

Thinking back to December when the virus didn’t affect us… This is a great song anyway 😂

10. Cruel Summer – Taylor Swift

Hopefully it won’t be a cruel summer, either way stream this bop.

11. Super Bass – Nicki Minaj

I said, excuse me you’re a helluva guy… This song is irresistible.

12. You Say – Lauren Daigle

I really love this song, and it’s something that we should be listening to during this time. Remember that God is there for you! This might be the song that’s most moving and powerful for me on this list. Lauren Daigle has a lot of amazing songs, so make sure to check the rest of them out too.

13. What A Beautiful Name – Hillsong Worship

Another great worship/Christian song! I really like this one too.

14. To Be Human – MARINA

This is another amazing song by Marina Diamandis that I loved hearing live at her concert! She can really sing and I’m pretty sure she doesn’t need any autotune, like ever. This particular song has a great message sooo that’s pretty awesome. GO LISTEN TO IT.

15. Beer Can’t Fix – Thomas Rhett

I thought about ending this playlist with an inspiring song that gives a great message to us all while lifting us up through these hard times..but that seemed like too much pressure. So I decided to spice it up with some Thomas Rhett at the end!

If you know me IRL, you probably know who recommended this song.

So, I guess that’s it for this blog post! I hope you found something new for you to listen to during self-quarantine. Stay healthy and safe, everyone!

Bonus Track: Dong Saya Dae – BgA

Just kidding, I HAD to put this song in. I love Ryan Higa (and Boys Generally Asian) to death. This one is perfect for Kpop fans! If you wanted to know how to sound like Nicki Minaj, 2 CHAINZ, Justin Bieber, and more, click here or here.

Get to Know Me

Hi everyone, my name is Emily and this is my travel/life blog! I’m going to be writing about many different topics, but mainly my travels and my everyday life. I’m a teenager (don’t @ me about this) and I live in Seattle, Washington. I live with my parents Rebecca and Chris, and my younger sister Amber, who is two years younger than me.

My family loves to travel, and we’ve been to many places across the U.S. including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York City, all five islands of Hawaii, and Orlando, and a few others including Taipei, British Columbia, and Grand Cayman.

I love traveling, reading, playing the piano and listening to music, and playing lacrosse. I play the piano and I’m learning Spanish in school. I’m semi-fluent in Mandarin Chinese from my family, but obviously, my main language is English. I also love doing things with my awesome friends!

I’m starting this blog because I want to tell you guys about my life, maybe meet new people, and keep a record of what I’m doing in this unique time period of life. I hope you all enjoy reading about what I do and where I go in my upcoming posts. Subscribe to be notified whenever I post, so you don’t miss anything!
